Memorial Day Weekend

We drove down to LA for Memorial Day, and stayed at my mom's new apartment. Leah slept for most of the drive.

Since we got in late, we had a slow morning and took our precious time getting ready for the day. We drove around, relaxed around Lake Balboa, and ran into my cousin David at Starbucks. I love that every time I come home, I run into somebody while we're out and about. It just reminds me how many people I know and love in the valley. :)

On our first evening there, we had dinner with a few of my high school friends to catch up. Love those girls! Itchy and Mayra couldn't make it (tear), but we had a blast with Evelyn, Mona, and Stephanie. Luckily, Leah was great and slept almost the entire time. By the end of the night, Leah was definitely done.

It was a pretty short trip, but it was great to see everybody. Before we headed back, Cheryl treated us to breakfast at Marie Callendar's. Yum...good stuff.

I think Andrew's favorite part of the trip was the drive back. We took the Pacific Coast Highway and it's gorgeous! We stopped along the route and walked a few hundred feet to see this cool waterfall. We also stopped to take a few pictures of the ocean. I love the fog! It's so pretty.

  1. I love seeing pictures of you guys, but especially Leah.

A few days ago I commented on something and it didn't show up. Oh, well. I think I said something about the fact that a newborn's skin has a fragile/translucent look, but that Leah now appears to have moved to the soft-baby-skin look. :^)
