Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night

I checked the mail this morning and found that the post office had returned this check that Karen had mailed to our landlord. Apparently she put an "insufficient address" on the envelope, but the post office was kind enough to overlook the lack of a stamp.

Karen, how many times do I have to tell you to write out the entire address? Seriously, how is the postal service supposed to deliver an envelope that only has the first two digits of the P.O. Box number? And just so you know, the landlord might have trouble cashing a check without a routing number.

This reminds me of a similar experience several years ago.  I received a letter three to six months after it had been sent. The only explanation was the phrase "MISSENT TO BEIJING" stamped on the envelope.
