Pets and Babies

I've never been a big pet person. It's not that there's anything wrong with animals—they're just a lot of work, especially when you include vacuuming fur multiple times a day. A pet is almost as much work as a baby, but at least a baby turns into a person.
Leah's personality has been developing. Recently, she has started to play: she enjoys chasing us around the apartment, particularly if we crawl around a corner and look back at her.  She has also started to mimic: if we clap, then Leah starts clapping, too. We've also noticed definite food preferences: shockingly, nectarines are much more popular than peas. And she has never disliked anything that came from an adult's plate.
Which brings me back to similarities with pets. At dinner, Leah loves to hover at the table and beg for scraps:
It's fun to watch Leah gradually develop her unique personality.

  1. Oh my goodness, Leah is getting so big! And she's still cute as a button. I just got caught up on the happenings in the McNabb household. I love it that you guys are busy doing good things and that you are happy. I love the Yellowstone pics, and I loved Leah's Halloween costume!
