Moving Up in the World
Goodbye crib! Hello toddler bed!
She was so excited to sleep in her new toddler bed. It even matches "her dresser." (It's really our nightstand; I look forward to reclaiming it when we actually have enough space to keep it in our room.) I wish you could have heard her squeal when she realized she got her own pillow. She even pretended to go to bed a few times before it was bedtime. I'm glad this transition was easy for her. Now my goal is to get her to let us put her new ladybug blanket over her when she sleeps. She's very attached to her baby blanket.
Karen- I don't know if this actually works but I read somewhere that cutting your child's security blanket piece by piece, smaller and smaller, don't let her see you, until its virtually gone helps her give it up because she can be convinced that now she is a big girl and its time for a new one. Let her actually throw it away by herself when its just inches in size and have the new one ready to replace it. Just an idea - CR
ReplyDeleteWe were a little worried about her being sad about losing her crib, but we let her help us take it apart and put together the new bed. I don't know how it would have turned out otherwise, but it seems like it helped to have her involved.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness I love her sheets they are so cute! I can't believe how grown up she is! Miss you guys!
