Last Trip of the Summer
We drove to Los Angeles with Linda and Tyler. We were only in town for a few days, but they were very busy days. But we had a good time and it was nice to see people, though there were a few people I didn't get to see. I even ran into my high school counselor, who actually recognized me--though he couldn't remember my name. I know I wouldn't recognize/remember all of my former students; there were just too many of them. And I certainly haven't worked with as many students as he has, so color me impressed.
We visited the Griffith Park Observatory. I haven't been there since middle school, so it was fun to go back. And they have made some awesome changes since then. We arrived before it opened; we killed time by wandering the grounds. Unfortunately, my mom had to work so couldn't join us.
That guy looks legit, right?
Venice Beach itself is nice though. I had been apprehensive about Venice Beach because I usually stick to beaches that I know. I didn't know if it had nice sand or was rocky, but it definitely turned out to be pleasant.
Leah kept pushing her hair out of her face when her hands were covered in sand. I tried to stop her, but that was a loosing battle. She didn't seem bothered by all the sand in her face though. She was bothered by the shower I made her take afterward to get it all out.
We also went to The Getty. I love those buildings. They're just so pretty. And the art is amazing too.

Don't judge. We took off her sandals because she kept getting little rocks in them. They sat and waited while I ran to the car for her sneakers. Here I am waiting for the doors to open.
We also went to Venice Beach. This is why I am against "medical marajuana."That guy looks legit, right?
