Leah's Quotes, Part 3

(While dropping Andrew off at BYU, Leah is prone to pouting.)
Andrew: "It's time for me to go. I'll miss you."
Leah: "No! Don't miss me!"

(As Andrew was putting Leah in her car seat.)
Leah: "Ow!"
Andrew: "What hurts?"
Leah: "Hurting hurts."

When Karen tells Leah to do something, sometimes she says "yes, sir" in response. When introduced to the phrase "yes, ma'am" she said "yes, man."

Leah: "I want a big house."
Karen: "Why do you want a big house?"
Leah: "It has more people in it."

Andrew: "Leah, you're wasting tissues... Wasting is when you use something even though you don't need it."
Leah: "But... but... I do that all the time."

Sight words that Leah can read by her third birthday: Leah, Mom, Dad, the, Google. She is her father's daughter.

"You remember? I helped you make dough yesterweek?"

(While "reading" her Disney princess book.)
Leah: "Princesses wear bras?"
Karen: "Women wear bras."
Leah: "Princesses wear bras?" (Apparently my answer was unsatisfactory.)
Karen: "Yes, princesses wear bras."
Leah: "You wear a bra?"
Karen: "Yes. Since I wear a bra, does that make me a princess?"
Leah: "No. You're not a princess! You're mom. You're silly!"

(Karen explained that we were giving away some of Leah's old clothes that she had outgrown to neighbor kids. And that we would save some in case we have another baby. So she's been confused and made comments about us getting a new baby. No baby expected, just to be clear. Here are my favorite related comments.)
"Someday we can get a new baby. But we can't take someone else's baby. Their mommy would be sad. We have to buy our own."
"Someday when we have a big house we can have lots of people." (Since she associates a "big house" as a house with a lot of kids in it.)

Karen: "Andrew, can you give this cheese to the cheese monster?"
Leah: "I'm not a monster! Monsters are boys!"

Leah: "Where's dad?"
Karen: "He's getting dressed."
Leah: "No, that's silly! Dad doesn't wear a dress! Dad's a boy!"

"I'm not a little misguided. I'm a big miss guided."

While putting a letter in the mailbox for Brita, Benton, and Mima:
"Do they live in there?" (Referring to the mailbox.)

While looking at this picture:
"Okay, all my babies are smiling. I'm the babies grown-up."

Leah struggled to turn a skirt right-side-out. After this problem was solved:
Karen: "See. Easy, peasy."
Leah: "Hardy, hardy." (with a grumpy tone)

Andrew: "Why did you write on your leg?"
Leah: "Don't worry about it. I'll worry about me. You worry about yourself."

Leah: "...eighteen, nineteen..." (long pause)
Andrew: "What comes after nineteen?"
Leah: "nineteen-one, nineteen-two, nineteen-three, ..."
(Leah counts in base nineteen! She's going to be a mathematician. We're so proud!)
