DIY Newborn Pictures Attempt #1

I looked for a professional photographer, and asked a few people for recommendations. But most of the photographers I found wanted to charge $500+ for a photo shoot ranging from half an hour to an hour. I'm not paying that craziness.

So Andrew added a fancy light to our stash of photography gear, I bought a few props, and we gave it a try ourselves. Andrew was the photographer; Leah took pictures on her kiddie camera to be involved. And I arranged Oliver and the props. I think the first photo shoot was pretty successful, especially considering we don't have much experience.

Oliver actually had a few scratches on his face. I photoshopped all of the pictures a little bit, and I think I did a pretty good job. Oliver is five days old in these pictures. For the next attempt, I want to get some sibling pictures. We should really get on that, but Leah has a cold and we are trying to avoid passing it on to Oliver. Nothing is worse than a sick baby. So he will be older than the recommended maximum (ten days old, according to newborn photography blogs) for newborn sibling pictures.

Which picture is your favorite? If anyone has good ideas for pictures, I'd love to hear them.
