Photo Shoots #4 and #5

The first set of pictures were taken at five weeks old. As you can see, his skin was having trouble.

And just to show off my mad photoshopping skills:

It was never going to be a great picture. I only spent time on this picture because the original showed how bad the rash on his skin really was.  And because editing it was a nice challenge for me. His skin looked a lot worse when he cried, or immediately after he cried. 

I think it's fascinating how the lighting made such an incredible difference in the appearance of his skin. These pictures aren't altered, but in some his skin problem isn't horribly noticeable.

If you look closely, you can see that his eyes are a dark blue color. We'll have to wait and see if his eyes stay that color.

I took him to the pediatrician the next day, who prescribed a shampoo to use on his scalp and on his trunk (which looked marginally better than his face/scalp.) It was an overgrown yeast infection; it showed up really fast.

The second set of pictures was taken at six weeks. Exactly one week after I followed the pediatrician's directions. That shampoo worked wonders. But the pictures just didn't turn out as cute, even though he was doing a lot better. I like the blocks spelling out his name, but I need to come up with another prop. Maybe pinterest can inspire me.

Leah was forbidden to touch Oliver because she had the flu. It knocked her out pretty bad.
